Embracing Love 2-in-1 2 collects volumes 5 and 6 of the series into one book.
The first half has stand alone type stories and an interesting ‘alternate’ tale of the main characters in Japan at the New Meiji restoration period. Both our guys find themselves on opposite sides of the war and will have to make some terrible choices. In the second half, the boys are in Los Angeles for a photo session and meet up with another couple who remind them of what’s important in life (each other).
The tone of the series really changes in these chapters – going from a very physical relationship to learning how to express and enjoy the emotional side. From the ‘love across time’ theme of the earlier chapters to the wedding at the end, there is a lot of sweetness as the guys learn to relax and appreciate their relationship for what it is (and isn’t). An ambush from a rising starlet and a mysterious/mystical connection with Yoji’s sister’s new baby and her brother add to the stories.
