Skip Beat 35 by Yoshiki Nakamura

Skip Beat 35 concludes the great scenes with “Corn” at Guam and can easily be considered the turning point for their relationship. Probably the sweetest volume in the entire series simply for Kyoko and Kuon’s cute fairy double speak and each trying desperately to keep their heart protected.

Story: Kyoko has found fairy Corn after all these years! But he doesn’t smile and worse, he has Ren Tsuruga’s face and voice. But when Corn proposes he’s been cursed and needs a kiss to be freed, Kyoko will agonize over whether she will break her promise to Ren or free Kuon.

This volume reveals quite a bit about Kyoko and Ren. But more importantly, it’s an important milestone for Ren to begin to face his past and accept it (just as Kyoko is doing the same with hers). Great volume! Reviewed from an advance reader copy provided by the publisher.
